Hi, I have just started the 5:2 diet and I was wondering if you need to fast on the same days every week? does it make a difference?

thanks!

It doesn't matter but I've found it easier as it means no one asks me out for dinner or drinks on Tuesdays and Thursdays as they know I can't

Also DP knows on those days he's fending for himself. It also fits in well with the activities I do on those two days

I think I might swap mine about depending on what I'm up to in the week. I was hoping for some flexibility!

I do change mine if things are happening during the week, sometimes back to back them but I don't recommend that. It's bloody tough!

I swap mine around. Sometimes on the day. It's part of the benefits of this diet IMO- on Thursday i was fasting, but after numerous crap hit me I switched it to Sunday. Last week should have been Monday and Thursday ended Monday and Wednesday as I'd not eaten most of the day on wed so carried on through. Smile

Brilliant, I am hoping this diet works for me. I need to lose at least a stone and a half.

It's worked brilliantly for me. I'm not 5ft 7 and just (literally, just) under 10 stone.

It'd the first sustainable diet I've been on and after the first week it's easy

The first fasting day I struggled but I've now found cheating ways to fill myself up which aren't calorific

I do the same days because it keeps me more accountable, less temptation to skip a FD completely!

And yes, it really works if you eat to TDEE or under on NFDs too. Have lost 22 pounds since March. Smile

So long as you fit in your 2 FDs during the week, you can swap them around to fit your social life.
Flexibility is one of the advantages of 5:2
