Fasting / 5:2 diet

accountability / support needed

Hi all, I need some help, someone (or more than one person) to keep me accountable so that I can get back on track as I've been doing really badly recently.

Some background: I was doing 5:2 for a few months (from september until february) and was doing really well. What worked for me was 2 full days of fasting. So I would stop eating after dinner (6ish) previous evening & eat again next evening at 6. In between only coffee / water / tea.

Then because of stressful situations since february (lots has been going on...but isn't that always the case one way or another) I started overeating & I feel really bloated now.

So just that really. Some support much appreciated Smile

Just a quick response.

Hi - that's exactly what I do, only, since I'm in maintenance I only do it once a week.

I started this evening - finished eating at 6.30 and I won't eat until tomorrow at 6.30.

I motivate myself by checking the time elapsed - so I've now got 2 hours fasting under my belt, so only 22 hours left.. By the time I go to bed at 1.30, I'll have about 7 hours in the bank - which means only 17 hours to go.

When I wake around 8.30am I'll have been fasting 14 hours - only 10 more before I eat. And so on through the day.

I always start with hot water to drink in the morning, graduating to coffee in the afternoon.

You do sound like you're into a good routine, once you're in the zone - so come on, get back into that routine ASAP.

As soon as you've got one FD under your belt, you'll be back in the zone, I'll bet! Good luck!

Why not jump in and fast, starting tomorrow. Can you plan your FD food now ?

On NFDs, you need to avoid junk and snacking, because they just lead to more hunger.

Thank you both. I'll join on main thread, yes as it seems that's where most people are? My fasting days are 2 specific days a week that work for me, tuesdays & saturdays. I also really need to be keeping an eye on non-fasting days which is what was working, ie eating healthily & very limited (if any) sugar.
