I have a terrible family medical history so I started the 5:2 last week.
I don't want to lose weight as my bmi is 20.5 and im happy with that, I want to do this for the health benefits.
My TDEE is 1640.
What I'm wondering is what do people maintaining weight do with the deficit of calories caused by fasting days . Do you just eat them on non fast days or forget about them?
Many thanks

Most of us tend to level up at the weekends - because low TDEE does not give much pace for wine and cheese and pizza

My TDEE on a non gym day is only 1500
I tend to have one meal on a Monday and Thursday and two on the other days
and lots and lots of tea.

THere is a maintainers thread somewhere : join in there as there are quite a few of us no longer losing weight

Hi, Pack Many of us maintain, but fast for health benefits, say 1-2 FDs.

We eat back the FD deficit during the week, either a bit each day, or more usually so we can indulge at the weekend or for a social occasion.

With a 1640 TDEE, you would have about 2300 deficit from 2 FDs.
So, you could stick to your TDEE during the week and have a very indulgent weekend or attend a mad party with those extra cals, or you could eat 1870 on each of your 5 NFDs.
