So, I am 11 weeks in and have lost half a stone and this has been very up and down too but the overall trend is down. Is this rate of weightloss normal on 5:2? I feel like its quite slow but my body shape has changed too.

I am 5 foot 7.5 and was 12:3 when I started and now 11:9

Well done on your weight loss, sussexbelle
5:2 does seem to help insulin metabolism and hence target abdominal fat better than other WOEs. So that helps shape and health markers.

Most folk lose around 1lb per week, but for those with several stone to lose it may average over 3lb, whereas those already within healthy bmi may only lose 1lb per month. Conditions like PCOS or thyroid slow down loss considerably.

If you eat above TDEE on NFDs, the rate would be slower, because that is eating back the FD deficit.

That doesn't matter if you are happy with your rate of loss. If you'd like to speed things us, do you mfp ? If not, then do so for a week, just to see if your NFDs average within TDEE. This can also help identify calorie bombs, such as large / frequent portions of sweet treats or alcohol.

Thankyou for your reply. I think I am fairly happy with my rate of loss but was worried I was doing it wrong. I use nutracheck app to track in nfds but not religiously which I think is whats slowing me down a bit.
Love 5:2 - its the only sustainable thing I have ever done Grin
