Not sure what I need, feeling very sorry for myself! So I fasted last Monday and Tuesday, Monday was hell and Tuesday was ok. Rest of the week I was very good. Weighed in on Monday and I've lost 3lb (yay) but fasting yesterday was soooo hard, I'm so bloody cold and trying to excerise nearly killed me. Not sure why im finding it so hard after only a week! All I want is a big cheese pizza or even better jacket potato! I know once I'm out of this fasting day I will feel great but not sure I'm going to make it through today.
Words of encouragement would be good! Confused

Wow! Fantastic loss of 3lbs! You need to concentrate on the good you've done and surely you could have a jacket potato on a non fast day. Doing two days consecutively is hardcore - no way could I do that. Can you spread the days out?

MelanieCheeks · 03/02/2015 09:55

If you've only just started, it DOES take a while to get into the groove. You're very brave launching straight into back-to-backs! Lots of hot drinks for the cold (bouillon, green tea, black coffee), and go easy on the exercise.

You made it through last week - no reason why you wont make it through today. I'm doing Monday Tuesday as well, so we can help each other across the finish line.

Last week I just happened not to be able to eat breakfast and by the time I realised I hadnt eaten anything it was after lunch so just did 2 days, thought I would give it a go again. I'm just so tired and cold. Im also having a new bathroom put in so I'm stuck in the house as where I would normally be out and about keeping my mind off of it.

Yeesh, yes keeping busy is a major part of it - as I always say "fasting is mental". Your body will be able to cope, if your mind will let it.

Into the home stretch now, we can make it!

I'm so looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. Brew

Am I supposed to feel so crap? I feel sick, like my stomach has knotted.

Well done on your weight loss.
Even most experienced fasters won't do 2 consecutive days. I suggest you choose non-consecutive days in future - would be much easier on you.

How's your water intake been?

Hardhaton · 04/02/2015 09:35

The water is being a problem, if I've excerised then drink water if not then drinking it is a problem. I've been just sipping to make sure I'm getting some during the day, I drink loads of no added sugar squash in the evening but problems with the day.

It is doubly, nay trebly, important to drink lots of water on fast days, as you aren't the usual amount of liquid you'd intake in food. I feel really sluggish, ill, and grumpy if I don't drink enough H2O.

Two days in a row is HARD
I've never done it
I fast on Monday and Thursday
but yes, yes, yes
LOTS of water and tea and coffee and miso soup
all through the day
