God that was hard. I feel like I've done a marathon. The first day was fine. The second I wasn't really hungry, just a bit irritable and spent the whole day watching the clock. I have never been so excited about a nfd and am having internal arguments with myself about what to have for breakfast. The bummer is I probably won't even be hungry!

I don't think I'll do it again. I reckon doing single fast days will be so easy from now on. You definitely learn a lot about your appetite when you do 2 consecutive fast days. It really is psychological about 80% of the time I reckon.

Well done. As you say, useful discipline.

I also tried this once and was very hungry on FD2 afternoon.
However, I exercise intensely and have a high TDEE. So, I had too high a deficit in too short a time for comfort.

btw: Dr Michele Harvie's 5:2 study had 2 consecutive FDs of 650 cals each, then 5 NFDs.
She reported that subjects had higher weight loss compared to a daily calorie reduction diet. She didn't examine non-consecutive FDs.

Enjoy breakfast tomorrow ! (I recommend a small meal but with plenty of protein)

I actually woke up not hungry! It's weird as when I do single days I wake up starving at 4 am. This time I slept right through.

Today I feel fantastic, like I've been on some super detox thing.

I exercise a lot, mainly heavy weight training but didn't do anything over these two days. I can only handle lifting at the start of a fast and definitely no cardio!

I started doing 5:2 with consecutive FDs on a Sunday and a Monday, then another FD on a Thursday, but did around 600 to 650 calories each day. The first couple of weeks were tough, but it is really effective, although I coupled it with lots of walking (lost a stone in the first month).

BigChocFrenzy · 16/08/2014 22:02

That's an interesting variation, squirrel Obviously worked well for you.
A stone in a month is very fast indeed

The 2" off bust, waist and hips was even more impressive!

BigChocFrenzy · 17/08/2014 11:33

Inches mean significant fat loss Flowers

Thanks BC, I'm not a gym bunny so it was through lots of walking, cycling and the 30 Day Shred. Must get back into swimming now too.

I'm just starting.

Good news from the rest of the gang.

However...

Anyone else found farting a bit of a prob? Esp after day 4 or 5

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2014 12:27

Partial Grin Noone else has reported it. Maybe you are eating beans or more veg, especially the fartier kind, like cauliflower or broccoli

catless · 29/08/2014 20:28

I had problems with burping. Even on non fast days.
