Are you actually hungry or is it just the idea of eating something?

If you are hungry I'd eat a boiled egg or a couple of tablespoonfuls of Greek yogurt.

If you just have the munchies then you must resist until tomorrow!

Well you can't (hot drink and book) that is the price you have to pay. You can have a nice glass of water and a book instead.

What I usually have in this situation is weird but works - half a chicken stock cube, mixed up with some soy sauce, chili flakes, ginger etc in a big mug to make a really light soup. For some reason it's really filling.

You can definitely have a hot drink for that! Herbal tea, regular tea or coffee with skimmed milk (not a latte!), even something like an options hot chocolate is only 40 cals :-)
If you are genuinely hungry then as said up thread a boiled egg is perfectly possible, veggies like carrot sticks, an apple... There are loads of choices if you just try to stay away from carb, fat or sugar heavy things!
