Has anyone heard of this? UpDayDownDay calorie counting? It's a bit like 5:2 but you have an up day followed by a down day and so on. There's a calculator on the website to work out how many calories you need for UDs and DDs. Anyone heard of this or do it?

Sounds like ADF (Alternate Day Fasting)a s we call it on the main thread and its OP.
A few people on the main thread do it, because it is quicker than 5:2 BUT only if you can keep it up. ADF is tougher on the body and difficult for your social life.

Dr Varady has done many human trials and scientific on this diet and produced a book - she calls it the EOD (Every Other Day) diet

The idea is you fast every other day "Down Day", on just 25% TDEE, which is about 500 cals (600 for blokes).
In between these days, you have "Up Days" when you eat what you want up to about 120% of TDEE - many people don't need to calorie count for this, as they just eat normally.
