Are you meant to go low-carb on FDs?

I've been reading Michelle Harvie's book and she recommends zero carbs on FDs but I know I will really struggle with this as I really rely on fruit ...
Am I right in thinking that on other 5:2 diets it's the calories that matter, not the source, so you can eat (limited) fruit and other carbs on FDs?

its easier to go low carb on fast days

I go for eggs and vegetables as they fill me up for the least calories
but basically do what works for you

this is for life so make rules you can stick with

Michelle Harvey recommends low carb, not zero carb.
Also she advocates a healthy Mediteranean diet rather than strict Atkins or Dukan.

Many folk find they get less hungry on FDs if they omit starches and fruit; other folk have small portions of these.

Experiment to find what works for your bod.

Do what works for you! Carbs tend to be bigger on cals so you don't get much bite for your buck. But today I had a poached egg on one of those slices of warburtons bread that is so thin you can almost see through it. 55cals for the bread. Happy days. But dinner is a huge chick pea veg curry no rice or meat.
I eat fruit, some don't. Try it and see what suits your body.
