Fast days headache

Hi, I've been doing the 5:2 for months now, no problems at all, really enjoying the it, but last fast day (Wednesday) and today I ended up with a huge headache. Like dehydrated headache, with waves of it pounding with changes of positions, pressure, etc. On both days I had lots to drink, water and low cal squash.

I usually eat only one meal, in the evening, on my fasting days, and have never felt this grotty before. The headache came on in the late afternoon on both days and was blinding.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Gah, 'enjoying it' not 'the it'!

I had this too and read that drinking lots and not eating can cause unbalanced electrolytes. I bought electrolyte tablets from Sainsburys (Science in sport, Go Hydro), I have one per day and I haven't had a headache since.

That's interesting, thanks. Do you take them only on the fast days?
