Fasting / 5:2 diet

Talk about intermittent fasting and 5:2, including what’s worked for others. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

I'm not sure how to fit my fast days into this week. Can I do 2pm to 2pm?

I'm on week 4 of 5:2 (actually did 4:3 for first 2 weeks. To get me started).

I've go so many events these next couple weeks that I thunk the best I'm going to manage this week is one proper fast day on Thursday and was hoping starting at 2pm Monday and fasting till 2pm Tuesday might work?

Is that allowed or is it just pointless?

I've not got a huge amount to loose, so progress has been fairly slow and I really want to keep momentum!

Can you start on day morning or tonight? 36 hours will always be better for you. Alternatively, use 16:8 or 14:6 to maintain weight over Christmas

Take a long term approach to 5:2ing - over the course of a year you might have 24 great fasting weeks, 24 so-so ones, and 4 where you dont even try due to holidays or illness or other events.

I'm only managing one full fast day this week, and that's fine. I might go without breakfast or lunch one other day - this will not derail my overall progress.
