Fasting / 5:2 diet

Talk about intermittent fasting and 5:2, including what’s worked for others. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Does 5:2 help with emotional/overeaters/compulsive eating, or make it worse?

When I am stressed I find myself reaching for food each day.

Recently, I had to fast for an operation, and I felt so upbeat and my skin looked great. I'm thinking of starting the 5:2, and just wanted to check if there were any other overeaters out there, and if so, did fasting improve or worsen this?

Hiya,
come and join the big thread
and let Toffeesponge be your mentor
because she is (nearly) a former emotional eater

and yes, the control for short periods, and the discipline of trying not to snack, but knowing you can relax on other days
seems to be really, really turning the corner for lots of people.

Pop a post into the main thread and you will be made very welcome
