Off to eat some celery while cooking DC supper. What do you guys eat at times like this? I'll eat with DH later, I had a tiny portion of bean casserole earlier but I can feel my empty tummy complaining and my supper seems a long way away!

Why eat so late? Confused

On fast days I've eaten by 5.30 and am tucked up in bed away from the kitchen as early as possible Grin

DH will be back from work before 9pm so I try to eat with him rather than leave him a plate and eat with the children. It is a long evening but it's good for us to eat together Smile

LaurieFairyCake Yep, same here. Every fast day evening is an early night, clean the kitchen at 6pm, then off upstairs for the rest of evening, long bath, reading and movies till bed at 9pm

So far today I have had

Breakfast - 2 glasses of lemon water - 20 calories
1pm Lunch - medium apple 50 calories, huge mug of chamomile tea with splenda 15 calories maybe?
6pm Dinner - portion of spicy lentil soup - 198 calories more lemon water

I like to stay under 400 calories, to be on the safe side.

Snoot Drink hot tea, or if you don't like tea have lots of lemon water. I don't get why you have to eat later?

x post re: late eating, that's sweet, OP. I'd drink lots of herbal tea.

DH and i usually eat together but sometimes on a FD I eat with the DSs (or gnaw my arm off..... Confused )
Today though, they had McD's and I had some melba toasts and very light cream cheese stuff and I'll make veggie curry for us both later.
Drink lots of water and black coffee or herbal tea!

Snoot · 19/09/2013 18:53

I'm not a fan of tea. I drink really good black coffee bit not after lunchtime. I bought fancy decaf but it's just horrid! One pint of water down I'm on a very weak vodka & slimline with ice and a slice, it's made me feel better! I think just pottering around the kitchen and producing something I can consume has cheered me up in itself Smile. I considered an apple but I'd rather use the 50 calories for vodka!

Well, obviously now his train is delayed and I'm half cut on vodka on an empty stomach but otherwise it's worked out swimmingly. I love it when a plan comes together.

My advice is next time don't have the tiny portion of bean casserole. I find that eating anything, or even just tasting anything wakes the hunger monster. But if I don't taste I'm fine. I find myself licking my finger then remembering I shouldn't have though.
