Just wondering out if interest if the 4:3 would be quicker weight loss wise? Was thinking of possibly doing it for a month or so and then 6:1 once target weight is reached. I'd love to return to school in sept slimmer

I've stuck with 5:2 the whole time ...

I do the occasional burst of 4:3 when I reach a plateau on 5:2, or if I've had a few 6:1 weeks. Generally I do 4:3 for a couple of weeks every 3 months or so. I want to stick to this for the long haul, so I have to recognise that some weeks I won't be able to fit 2 fasts in, other weeks I can fit 3 in.

I just keep on rolling....

The 52 forum has been compiling stats for quite some time and their data suggests that the average loss on 5:2 is 1lb a week whereas on 4:3 is only 1.2lb.

Though how much of that is because of weight loss slowing on 5:2 as you need to lose less so switching to 4:3 I don't know.

I struggle to lose on 5:2 and have been doing 4:3 for the last few weeks and I am losing around a pound a week.

I don't currently do any exercise.

Thanks all very helpful. I may try a third fast Friday but will play it by ear.
