Fasting / 5:2 diet

Talk about intermittent fasting and 5:2, including what’s worked for others. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Can someone give me a bit of help please!?

Right, so my TDEE (whatever that actually is) is 2333, and my BMR is 1702.4

Please can someone tell me in simple terms how I do this 5:2 diet, as I am an idiot and just can't work it out. How many calories on non-fasting days, and how many on fasting days?

Oooh, and how much weight have you lost so far? Smile

Thank you!

Hello! It's easy. 5 days a week you can eat up to your TDEE (the amount of calories you get through each day) and 2 non consecutive days a week you can eat/drink up to 500 calories, in anyway you like. Come and see us on the number 20 thread for lots of help and guidance. People tend to lose, on average (some weeks lots, some none) 1lb a week.

There are also lots of people doing 5:2 who have reached their target weights and are still doing it for the health benefits.

I stopped losing weight in December.
I'm planning to keep doing 5:2 for ever.

I always try treat a bit less than my TDEE- at least on most non-fast days. Otherwise my own calorie deficit would only be 3000 per week.

I've lost about two stones now. I love it.
