30th ideas for Husband with two young children

My husbands 30th is on 1st February next year, so being a cold month I feel like you are so limited to what you can do!

We have 2 children who will be 1 and 4 come next year, I did think a holiday but I don’t feel comfortable going long haul with two young children to fly to a country that is warm in February as most are far away and places like Spain or Canary Islands will still be fairly cold and out of season.

I then though about centre parcs, but again, it’s going to be freezing cold and not sure if outdoor activities are open in winter.

A garden party, again too cold! 😂 I did think about hiring a venue, but I feel I will put in so much effort and money and people will drop out and not many people would turn up.

I then thought about a spa weekend just us, but I think my husband would want to do something with the children involved.

We also love Formula 1 and I did think about going to a race, but the season doesn’t start until March, and most of the first races are in countries too far away, and not sure if suitable for a 1 year old.

I am running out of ideas and actually can’t think of much else than the above. Would love to get some ideas from others, especially those who have celebrated a big birthday with two young children involved, or those whose birthdays are in a cold month!

Thank you x

I am in the exact same boat!! My husband has said he'd love to do Centerparcs with extended family and get one of these tree houses with a games room and hot tub... I said maybe because it will be February!

For his 21st we did a nice family meal and hosted a garden party in the summer, I wonder if we might do something similar again...

I would do centre Parcs with sauna and hot tub or another posh hotel either indoor pool - gleneagles if you have the budget!
why do you think people will drop out if you hire a venue? Why not a pub (if you have budget to feed everyone or make it clear what you are and aren’t providing?)

The swimming pool in centre parc will be lovely in winter too
