Too big in what way? Relationships between the children? Making your life more difficult? There are families with all sorts of age gaps and they make it work.

Yes it would be difficult, 14 year old wont want to do things a 7 year old would much less a pre teen wouldnt be interested in toddler things.

Mine have a 6y age gap.

In the early years it's fine. Baby can easily tag along... with a toddler you get away with it sometimes.

Obviously the tween & teenage years are more difficult. They have different needs on top of potentially different interest. Think about things like swimming lessons, one in the 5pm stater lessons and the other in the 7pm advanced, practicing for swimming galas...
So you need to tag team with your partner all the time!
Now, my youngest is teen and things are easy. My DC have a lovely relationship which helps. Youngest likes visiting oldest in uni, when oldest is home, we don't have to be taxi for youngest... not sure how things change once oldest has finished with uni.

Overall I love my DC, I was lucky enough to give both ample 1:1 time even if it was difficult at times. It's lovely to still have one at home & needing me - but that's selfish!
