What is classed as a cycle for ivf?

Hi
I'm soon going to go through ivf using care fertility and 2 cycle no refund program with access fertility. I don't fully understand what they class as one cycle, if anyone's been through this could you please help me? My understanding is if you had 2 embryos for example and the first one fails, you can use the second one, both would be classed from the same cycle? Sorry it's confusing. Any advice welcome. Thank you

A cycle is starting from day one of your cycle, injecting, harvesting eggs and (hopefully) an embryo transfer

the remaining embryos will be frozen and used in a frozen embryo transfer

i believe Care offer 2 fresh cycles and 2 frozen if you’re an nhs patient

Good luck

No, that would be two separate cycles.

I did the same at Care several years ago. I only ended up with 2 embryos (non to freeze, 2 were transferred at the same time). I think if you have some to freeze it's an additional charge for each FET transfer (and you'd need medication for a FET). I think that's the case but double check with Care.

OK thanks:) I was told I would need freeze all cycle because of a risk of ovaries being over stimulated (theres a name for it but can't remember what it's called) there's a lot to understand

Can’t comment with care specifics but we had treatment with access fertility in a two cycle programme. We ended up as a freeze all cycle, I then had a frozen embryo transfer resulting in our daughter. That cycle, plus the frozen transfer all counted as my first cycle.

That's interesting to read and congrats :) I was so unsure what option to go with (with access) I wanted to choose the refund one but I don't think I can afford it..together with cost of meds etc it's so expensive:( thanks for your comment

I think in that case your first FET would be included but not subsequent ones. Best of luck
