My daughter has just turned 2. I can’t stop thinking about a second baby. Am I mad to plan this when my daughter is this age? Do I wait till she’s a little older? Do I have another before she starts school?? I know, obviously it’s up to me and my partner… but does anyone with experience of this age gap have any advice???

Why would you be mad to have another one? It'll be around a three year age gap, it's not small? Or do you mean it's too big and they won't play together so well as if you had already had your second?

I think that is a normal age gap. My DC have 4.5 years between them (4 and 9) and there are pros and cons to each but there do not seem to many parents in my position at my DCs school. In my DCs classes most of the DC that have siblings at the school are 2 or 3 years older or younger. The only other parent that has DC the same age as mine has another DC in the middle. If that makes any sense?

I had already had my second by the time the first was 2!

No it’s a completely normal gap if it happens right away, I think anything more than up to 4 years is quite a big gap (which have pros and cons I have an 8 year gap between my middle and youngest).

Normal age gap, 2.5 yrs between each of mine. 3rd will also have a 2. 5 Yr gap
