Stopping Desogestrel after 10 years

Hi all, I’m thinking of stopping Desogestrel (mini pill) as of today as we’re hoping to start a family next year. Has anyone had any symptoms from stopping this? Is it a good time to come off if wanting to concierge next year?

I’m not TTC but stopped it 2 weeks ago after 4 years. Still no period, I’m fuming!
So far I’ve had tender breasts and insanely sensitive nipples which lasted about 4/5 days, the odd twinge in my abdomen but other than that no issues.
Apparently it can take 3 months for your menstrual cycle to return to normal. It’s probably worth buying some ovulation tests to use once you’ve had a period to help figure out timings but I’d definitely say stop now if you want a baby next year. Keep in mind you COULD become pregnant immediately after stopping them.

I've got to stop it in August when I turn 55. I'm dreading it!

Hi @DinoLil , I know this is an old thread but just wondering why you are dreading stopping it?

I'm looking for people's experiences on it, have an appointment soon to discuss contraception and it's one of the options.

@KerryPippinI don't want periods again or to be launched into menopause. I had a call with the nurse a couple of weeks ago and she had no idea whether I just stop or replace with something else.
