Using pull out method after vasectomy

My husband had a vasectomy a few months ago but isn’t due to give his sample to check he is clear until August.
I have an IUD which has recently expired and I was planning on just getting it removed and not replaced. My husband thinks it’s fine to just use the pull out method until he gets the check. I’d rather not have another IUD as it would just be for a couple of months however I DO NOT want another baby hence the vasectomy!!

Do we think it’s fine to use pull out?

Also for context we tried for a baby unsuccessfully for many years before we had fertility treatment. It was unexplained infertility though- no issues on either side.

It’s fine if you are happy to be pregnant again. If that’s not what you want then you need to use contraception ( pull out isn’t). Condoms are the obvious answer for the timescale involved.

No it’s not fine! It’s not contraception to have unprotected sex and aim to pull out. You don’t know the vasectomy’s worked until the sample results are in. Have the coil out and then use condoms till he’s officially in the clear, that’s what we did.

What do you call people who use the pull out method? Parents.

Use a condom

I was in a not dissimilar situation after my youngest. DH had the vasectomy and I was struggling with the side effects of hormonal contraception so we used a condom till he got the all clear

Which coil and how long have you had it in?
Apparently the mirena can be used for 8 years for contraception rather than the 5 years it used to be

Why would you not just use a condom until he gets tested?
