Ready for baby no.2? Pros and cons

My baby is nearly 10 months and myself & my partner both know we would like 2 more babies if we are able. I’ve always liked the idea of having them close together, especially as I’d like 3. I am 30 and my partner 35.

i think daily about baby no.2 and I love being a mum so much I just think why not start trying now, especially as we don’t know how long it may take.

what’s your thoughts and experience on having them close in age or am I bonkers?

I have 24 months between eldest and second, and 22 months between second and third. They are all still very little so I can’t speak for the long term, but so far I think that (almost) two years is a lovely gap - especially if you’re planning to have three!

Go for it OP, although it's quite tough in the first year of having your second it's fantastic to have them close in age as they're getting older. Mine are 2y 3mo apart and I wish I'd had them closer together (took 5mo of trying). They'll be 3 school years apart because of when their birthdays are. Get some support either through family, au pair or mothers help to get you through the first year.

We are also ttc no.3 and it's taking ages and now if we have a third they will be 3+ years younger than dd2 and 5+ years behind ds1.
I feel like with 4 and 2.5yo we are getting to a good stage of doing family things together like bike rides, days out. The kids are more capable and are into the same things. If we had a 3rd now I don't think the little one would ever catch up and worry we would never all do things as a family that everyone enjoys.

In an ideal world , I'd have 18mo between each... and a lot of help with childcare to stay sane!!

I can’t speak for how it will be when we have them both here but we went for it. My daughter is 13 months old and I’m just over 3 months pregnant, we always wanted a small age gap & health issues sort of prompted this baby sooner but I maybe naively think it will be okay!😂
