Living in Manchester -Diversity

Hello,
I'm looking to raise a mixed race family (half black) around Manchester or Cheshire however I don't know where the nice areas are. It would be nice to be somewhere that has alot of diversity and is multicultural and also a sought after place. I have seen some nice places around Leeds that tick these boxes so will look there too but just wondering for Manchester and surrounding areas
Thank you

Chorlton and Didsbury are diverse and friendly and attractive places to live. A bit pricey though.

Thank you ,do you know of any similar areas that aren't as pricey (could be a bit out of Manchester)

Stretford, Urmston. Leeds is nice.

You could also look at South Liverpool near Sefton Park

I have to be honest I find Chorlton distinctly wanky nowadays

Prestwich has a good community feel.

I wouldn't call Levenshulme nice. It's been up and coming for at least a decade.

It's on the up I think. Not posh and hipster like Chorlton, but the prices reflect that. It has reasonable transport links, green space, places to eat.

Is Chorlton posh these days? I remember it being fairly average, maybe even a bit cheap rental ish 30 years ago. Not lived in Manchester for years.

I'm not sure someone said it wasn't though

Tbh it’s certainly not diverse. It’s very white middle class with pretensions of bohemianism. It’s completed the full gentrification process.
