Breastfeeding and fertility

Hello,

I'm currently still breast feeding my 17 month old, day and night and I don't yet have my periods back. I want to start TTC again for a 2nd as it took us a long time to get pregnant with our baby and we had IVF in the end. But I don't want to end our breastfeeding journey too soon. I'm thinking about night weaning but continuing breastfeeding in the day. I just wondered if anyone had experience of night weaning returning their fertility? Or whether anyone had to stop breast feeding completely to have them return? Or if I wait long enough and continue to breast feed will they come back anyway? Any thoughts much appreciated!

Some IVF clinics won't treat you if you are still breastfeeding so I'd check that with your clinic if you still need to go down the fertility treatment route

Most women I know stopped the day time feeding at this age as presumably he's fully weaned? And then just did night time comfort feeds

Most didn't get their periods back until they'd stopped fending totally though....
