Anyone had preeclampsia more than once?

My first child I developed mild preeclampsia at 40 weeks. Luckily already at my due date, I was induced and 3 hours later out he popped. Had a few issues with hypoglycaemia and sepsis but otherwise perfectly healthy.

My second pregnancy was a nightmare, I developed severe pregnancy induced hypertension at 34 weeks and had many hospital stays because nothing would control my blood pressure. Eventually at 37 weeks it developed into severe preeclampsia, I was induced and she was born after 17 minutes of labour. I was then readmitted 5 days postpartum as I went into a hypertensive crisis. Luckily it all settled after about 6 weeks.

Ive now had it twice, and one day I would like a third baby. I’m assuming my chances for getting it a third time are rather high. Is there anyone else out there who’s had preeclampsia twice and did you get it a third time?

Yes. Once you’ve had it you’re more likely to get it again…

I had severe preeclampsia with my DD. My obstetrician advised that overall, she would not recommend that I have another pregnancy, but if I did get pregnant, I'd need daily aspirin during second and third trimester to reduce the risks of severe preeclampsia again.

Sorry you went through this too, it’s a horrible condition. Unfortunately I took aspirin during my second pregnancy and it did absolutely nothing for me, I actually had preeclampsia worse than when I didn’t take it with my first! Definitely will be thinking over whether a third baby is right for me or not.
