IUD insertion / perforation

I’m 12 weeks postpartum and have had my mirena coil fitted yesterday. I was made aware of the risks, I’m at a higher risk of perforation due to thinner cervix as so recently gave birth. Anyway I’ve not really had any pain, maybe a bit of referred cramping in left abdomen (or could be constipation idk) but today I picked up my lg and felt a sharp pain roughly where the IUD likely is (top of my pelvis / bottom of abdomen). The pain lasted about 2 mins and has now gone but I feel a bit nauseous. Am I allowed to check the threads yet as it was only inserted so recently and could I have done damage?

I should note, the gp said you might have no pain with perforation which is why I’m anxious!
