To have a 2nd/3rd baby/child - help me decide

Hi,

I’m 34 and have 14 yr old DD (full time). My partner is 39 and has 5yr old DD (50/50). We have been together for 3 years and lived together for 1.

Recently discussed having another baby. I am all for it as I never felt ‘one & done’ DP also really keen as he wanted 2 children but for both us wasn’t to be in previous relationships.

I was all up for it until it dawned on me I have a 14 yr old and all the freedom that comes with that. 5yr old is growing up everyday and we have a good routine for both girls although very busy lives for us as parents lol both girls get on amazingly! My DD is the ‘big sister’ I always knew she would be and she has taken to our arrangement wonderfully naturally. Although I know she loves that I am her mum and we obviously do a lot together just us.

Am I mad for thinking of having another baby? I feel it would complete us a family and the girls would love it and adapt well. But equally, I’m taking my DD on holiday on Saturday for a few days and I can’t wait to just have her as a teenager to be able to relax and enjoy the time.

My partner is very happy either way so no pressure from anywhere.

Anyone else have big age gaps/ blended families?
