Contraception conundrum

Can I ask what contraception people are on? I feel like this isn’t talked about enough! I know my options but anytime I Google I read horror stories:
so essentially - I can’t take the pill because I forget/it sends my moods crazy/ and I can’t have the combined due to migraines.
I bled non stop on the implant
I have a hormonal coil and my sex drive is dead, although other side effects are relatively okay… I want to want sex again.
I know that leaves me with the copper coil but the reviews online are basically horror stories.
and natural family planning, which I’ve done before conceiving my 2nd dc, I felt great in myself being hormone free but I’m just not okay with accidentally becoming pregnant.
my OH is willing to get a vasectomy but we’ve not fully decided if we’re done having children, Just definitely not right now!
im leaning towards a copper coil, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

How long ago was it you had the implant was it nexplanon or implanon?

FriendlyNeighbourhoodAccountant · 10/06/2024 20:38

I've had the copper coil for 12 years and it's been fab.

I hate all forms of contraception. I found the coil insertion agony and it gave me painful periods and BV. Hormonal methods mess with my moods and make me feel flat. So my DH has to wear condoms. When we have completed our family he will get a vasectomy!

I’ve had it 3 times, once when I was around 19 (12 years ago) and it was great, when I changed it after the 3 years I had nothing but issues… tried it again after my 1st dc, and the same issues… I want to say the most recent one was nexplanon but couldn’t say what the others were.
