Mirena coil removal

Hi ladies

I am getting my mirena coil removed next Wednesday after having it in for the last 4 years (TTC baby #3).
Im just wondering how the removal went for you? If there were any side effects afterwards and how long it took you to conceive after removal (if you got it out to conceive.)
I also have a suspected ovarian cyst and I am booked in for a scan end of the month to investigate, any ideas if the removal will effect it or anything?

Thank-you!

Mine came out easy peasy, did it myself to stop the agony - pregnant within the month!

I removed twice to get pregnant. Removal is easy, a lot less uncomfortable than insertion! I deliberately had mine out a few months before ttc as I knew it would stress me out if it took a while. I think it took a couple of months before periods came back, much lighter than before which was great!

Can’t answer your last question but my removal was a doddle, didn’t even realise she’d done it. I had one weird period/bleed a week or so later and then conceived straight away. Easy peasy.

Im not sure went wrong with mine given all the other replies so far but sorry to say it was horrendous having it taken out.
Having it put in wasn't pleasant but removal was absolute agony tbh.
Had it swapped for a new one and she said to me after "oh you could have waited another 3 years as they last 8 years now" 🫠🫠
