Palpitations on Mirena coil?? Help!

Hi everyone, I’ve not been on mumsnet for a very long time and I’m hoping some of you can help me. I had the mirena coil inserted 6 months ago now and I have just started with palpitations. They came from nowhere, now are coming thick and fast all day every day (it’s been a week now) although they don’t wake me in the night. It’s like a bubbling in my chest and like I have to cough to clear it. I’m 38 years old, I have had a Mirena before (inserted 5 years ago) with no symptoms like this. so this is the replacement one I had in 6 months ago. I have seen my doctor today who has done an ECG (Normal) also normal blood pressure, pulse etc. I take no other medication. The nurse told me Mirena cannot be connected to palpitations but after reading Google I see there are a lot of reports! I’m at my wits end, very frightened and trying to look after two boys and hold a job down.
any help or advice appreciated

Sounds like you need help with your anxiety, and to stop googling symptoms.

Never had the coil so can't help with that bit but if you're still getting palpitations ask the docs for a 24 hour monitor, it will be fitted for you and there's a little thing that goes around your neck and you press a button when you feel the palpitations. They can then asses it and see what was happening at the time you felt it x

If you had the coil put in 6m ago and they've only just started I doubt it's linked? What makes you think it is?
