Desogestrel and constant bleeding

I hope someone can help as I’m at my wits end with this! I’m in a new relationship and I’ve started taking desogestrel. This is month two, coming to the end of. Things started ok but I’ve now been either spotting or full bleeding for almost 3 weeks. Obviously this is annoying at the best of times, awful when you’re in the throes of seeing someone new!
has this happened to anyone else? Did it settle and if so when? Im so close to stopping them to be honest, it’s putting me in the worst mood.
I’m due to have the mirena fitted but that’s in two weeks and plus what if this happens on that as well?
the doctor just says wait and see but I’m having to wear pads everyday and I can’t have sex. It’s making me feel so down.
thanks for any advice you can give 😣

@Twoanklebiters did this ever resolve for you? Did you end up getting the mirena?
I'm in the same situation, have previously bled constantly on destrogel so don't want to even start it again and afraid will have similar issues with the coil...

@WaveyGodshawk well it’s month 2 of the mirena and month 1 was bleeding almost constantly but so far things have been significantly better since my first period. Admittedly the period itself went on longer than I’d like. I’ve no idea what the next one has in store! So much better than the pill I’d say. Give it a go but I expect the first few weeks might be a bit bleedy. Should settle after that. Good luck!

@Twoanklebiters thanks for replying. Glad to hear it's working out better for you, might just have to give it a try so!
