Has your coil ever moved ? If so what were your symptoms?
Thanks

Yep. Mine dropped down and I started bleeding, having heavy bleeds. A scan showed it had dropped, the following hysteroscopy showed it had moved back up. The consultant said an ablation would be next if I kept bleeding, and discharged me.
Guess what, I’ve started spotting again.

I felt like I was pregnant.. sore boobs the lot. Had it removed

That’s awful @DustyLee123 . I had the mirena in January and honestly had no end of problems with it and bleeding . Since early hours on Friday I’ve had non stop abdominal pain with this morning being the worst ! I was bleeding but its stopped . Thankfully I’m not one to get really bad AF cramps so this is unusual. .

I also feel like my strings are lower , can’t be sure as I don’t usually feel for the length of the strings just if they are there ! .

I think I’m going to have to look at an ablation. My bleeding isn’t lots, but I’m needing to wear a pad all the time. Honestly, I wish they’d just take the lot out and be done with it.

ScoobyBooby · 29/10/2023 07:35

Sounds very similar to my bleeding or spotting . It’s just very hit and miss and things are just not settling. .

I am sorry I ever got this too . have you tried other contraceptives ?

I’m not using it for contraception, I’m using it for heavy bleeding in peri menopause

Peekingovertheparapet · 29/10/2023 07:43

Mine actually embedded and I didn’t have any symptoms, or at least none that I recognised at the time. I just had a very painful insertion and some slightly prolonged spotting. I was blissfully ignorant until it came to removal.

DustyLee123 · 29/10/2023 07:45

My wires went up almost immediately, so that’s probably why mine moves about. And apparently I’ve got a tilted womb.

ScoobyBooby · 29/10/2023 08:58

@Peekingovertheparapet I think this is the last straw for me now with it all . How awful yours embedded , did you have to have an operation to remove it ?

@DustyLee123 actually considering going to my local emergency gynaecology unit . Nothing is taking this pain away !

@ScoobyBooby yes, it was removed under GA which was no big deal and I had it replaced at the same time.

ScoobyBooby · 29/10/2023 09:30

glad you’ve had no further issues!

Yes, it happened to me over 10 years ago and I reluctantly agreed to another last year due to heavy painful periods and I think it is happening again. First time round I had a few episodes of right side low down cramps and back pain, like period pains or contractions and they increased in severity but weeks apart until one night after a few hours of pain I went to the toilet and it fell out when wiping and the pain instantly stopped. It all clicked then, I thought I had kidney stones or something but the doctor said they were contractions.

This time I've had a few episodes of lower right side cramps that don't last too long that have made me wonder. I had one a few days ago that put me on my knees but stopped after 20 minutes. But last night woke in the early hours from the pain with cramps I couldn't sleep through. I wondered if it was a tummy bug starting when it woke me, but it definitely felt like contractions/period pains. They lasted a few hours but I haven't felt anything today. I think my strings feel a bit longer but I could be imagining it.
