I got lots of breakthrough bleeding trying to run pills together. Mirena stopped almost everything (including my migraines) after 4 months or so

I was on the depo injection for almost 11 years. It stopped mine completely

I have no periods with the implant

Cerazette stopped my periods and so did the mirena coil. You can run packs of the combined contraceptive pill together and then have your break (between 4 and 7 days) if you get breakthrough bleeding. Depo injection made me bleed and put on lots of weight

It was OK for me 20 years ago. In my job, periods were a nuisance, so I ran my pills together and never had another period.

I started taking the mini pill after having ds2 as my periods were horrendous, and I was still breastfeeding at the time - I had spotting and breakthrough bleeding for the first few months but nothing for years.

Does it help with pmt such as anxiety?

I take the combined pill, suffer hormonal migraines always have done and I take a break every 3 months because I can’t cope with the migraines

PinkDaffodil2 · 26/10/2023 22:23

How long for and are you considering children in the next few years?
The best bleeding control will probably come from the injection but that can affect your fertility for a year or so after. Back to back pill works for lots but you’ll usually get some spotting. Taking a 4 day break every 3 months or so works for many and that way you know when the bleed will be.

Not planning children as I have 3. We
Are done
