Hello. I had the mirena inserted 11 months ago (4 months after giving birth to twins). Initially they couldn't insert it - or at least she said it would be extremely painful for me if she continued. Appointment was postponed for a week later and I had to insert a tablet vaginally beforehand to aid insertion. The procedure was fine and no worse than a smear for me.
About 5 weeks ago i started having sharp pelvic pain off and on. It came on suddenly when I moved - when walking etc. I went to the dr and she had a look and said she could see the mirena but would refer me for an ultrasound. Still waiting on that referral but the pain went after a couple of days.
Since yesterday I've had terrible back pain radiating from my lower back nearly up to my shoulder blades and wrapping around my stomach. I never really had period pains before, just mild back ache when I did. It feels comparable to labour somewhere around the 5-8cm dilation mark. I'm nauseous from the pain, and having small amounts of diarhea. Does this sound mirena related? I'm wondering about perforation. I do have a tilted uterus as well. Going to call the drs when they open at 9 but wondering if anyone has experience of something like this
