IUD removal on period

I'm due to have to copper coil removed on Wednesday but I've just come on my period. Has anyone ever had a coil taken out while on their period? I called up to reschedule but the next available appointment is mid-Oct so I don't want to have to do that but also not keen on the idea of going while on my period.

I can’t help directly with the question but I can tell you about my own experience…
I was on my period when I had the coil put in, I did call to reschedule but they said it was fine and actually better to do it during, apparently your cervix is more dilated so makes it easier for them to get in and out….

Not certain the same logic applies for removal but fingers crossed it works in your favour!

I had mine removed today too fyi that’s how I stumbled upon this thread (take a couple of ibuprofen an hour before)

Don't worry - apparently it's easier when you have a period. I got mine changed a few months ago and rang them on the day to say that I had just come on. They said it was absolutely fine and to come in. Remember to take deep breaths!

I was told to book an A during my period as it is easier to remove.
