Talk to me about sterilisation during c section please.

Hi,
I've had the OK from my consultant today to have my tubes tied during my C Section which is planned for a few weeks time.

Please tell me about your experiences!

Apparently I need to have a chat with the surgeon on the day and request that they are clamped rather than tied. It all sounds very casual!
I am worried that my periods will be heavier afterwards.
How long do we need to avoid sex use extra contraception?

I had this done two years ago. It was a very easy process and I am glad I did it.

My period has returned a bit heavier than what I remember before, but I don’t think there have been any other side affects. It’s nice having a cycle again without hormonal contraception worries.
