Desogestorel advice

Doctor wants to switch me from combined pill (microgynon) to mini pill because I’m 45 and perimenopausal.

She’s written desogestrel on the prescription but I know there are different brands, some which seem to cause significant bleeding to start. Is there a particular type I should try first as I’d rather avoid that if I can!

(I’m also going to be taking progesterone and using oestrogen gel to manage peri). I’m slim, normal blood pressure and have hypothyroidism.

Without risk factors you are normally ok to keep taking the combined pill until age 50.

I used the cerazette desogestrel pill with no issues but think it's the more expensive one.
