Sex after vasectomy

DH had a vasectomy fairly recently, he’s a bit sore still and a bit bruised and we haven’t DTD yet. He’s more comfortable getting out and about now and back to work and back fully into his share of housework and kids, he’s having a month off exercise/gym as advised.

For anyone else’s husband had it done, how long til he felt able to get back in the swing of it? I know that we have to wait a certain time before were “safe” and send a sample
off, I Still have a coil so were covered for that

Im being very mindful that after my c sections he never pressured me and we made sure I was ready before we started DTD again. I don’t want to pressure him
or cause him pain either but I am pretty horny at the moment, probably cos I know I cant have him yet 😂

I think it was after the "okay". First couple of weeks were too sore and bruised and stitched to consider anything beyond perfect "John Wayne Walking" impersonations.

My dh never took a month off from the gym. I'm sure he played football a few days later.

My dh never had stitches
Maybe there are different methods of performing a vasectomy.

Same evening..
😬

Quote likely - this was about 30 years ago now I think back.

Quite... god, my fingers are pissed

So sorry, "back in the swing of it" made me laugh. I know that's really childish, I apologise. No idea, my ex h would never get one done, far too selfish. He booked me in for a full hysterectomy instead. I suppose just when he feels ready? Like when a woman gives birth, probably everyone heals differently and at different rates x

DH had it done recently too. He was back at the gym and with me (!) around the 3 week mark, he was never told to take a month off. He was still a bit sore around 2 weeks, one wound took longer to heal than the other. I think (a bit like post childbirth sex!) there's an element of a psychological barrier to get over first.

calmby · 04/04/2023 15:53

@Jadedbuthappy82 so glad he's you're ex!!!

Jadedbuthappy82 · 04/04/2023 16:05

Oh I know! He was a nightmare! Funnily enough, the appointment letter for the hysterectomy fell on the doormat of my new place, via royal mail redirection, just three weeks after I escaped from him. And I do mean escaped,he was horrendous and still is. Never again! 🤦🏼😆

The month off gym exercise is in his leaflet. I suppose thats fair enough if he’s chucking weights around. I imagine he’ll
want to get back to swimming earlier

Next morning for my DH, he wanted to check his penis still worked!

Beepboops · 12/01/2024 10:56

@DinoRodney 😂 This made me laugh and would be the exact same thing my husband would do too.
