Irregular cycles

!! TMI photo !!

not sure this would be the right thread for this but here we go

So I have had very irregular cycles since giving birth in 2021. Can be upto 47-50 days. Sometimes 30-35. Anyway when my AF starts I get what I think would be known as spotting.. however my 'spotting' can sometimes cover the whole tissue when I wipe (tampon not needed at this point as nothing actually comes out, only when going to the toilet & wiping). This spotting or whatever it is can sometimes last for 5days / a week before any sort of clots would come out. So what I'm asking is: when do I count the first day of my cycle? The 'more than normal spotting' or the first day the clots appear? I have attached the photo just so you can see what my sort of spotting looks like - or if anyone wants to tell me different? Should i be counting that as the start of AF or not? Thanks for reading xxx

You've posted in the contraception topic

Are you using a method where knowing the first day counts? Natural Family Planning isn't really suitable for very irregular cycles, so perhaps you need to be looking at different methods
