I had the depo for the first time on 25th Nov. I was due my period, and it didn't arrive (pregnancy tests as a precaution all neg). On 24th Dec when my next one was due I started bleeding on wiping. It has continued every since. I don't need to use sanitary protection particularly although a couple of times it has gone through underwear as it took me by surprise. I wouldn't call it spotting. It is fresh red mostly, sometimes mixed with mucous. Copious amounts on wiping. Each time I wipe there is a bit more. I did 5 wipes with tissue yesterday and each time the tissue had some on. But as I say I don't need to wear anything as it isn't actively coming away other than maybe twice.
But 3 weeks of it is shit. It's shit all over my newly found sex life which was the reason I had it! My libido is non existent - I don't even want a hug or a kiss. I have a really high sex/affection drive ordinarily. I have had this same reaction before with the implant so I suppose I should have expected it - the pill didn't give me any issues though and it is the same hormones.
Anyway, how long will this bleeding continue for from experience? I am not going to get a further shot, and I did wonder if maybe just asking for my previous pill and going back on that might sort out the bleeding. However the next shot isn't due for 6 weeks or so, so I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to take another contraceptive with the same hormones.
I'm also concerned about the bleeding as my ferritin is 3 and I am permanently exhausted as it is. I can't afford to be losing so much blood.
Any ideas?
