Natural cycles app

I no longer want to be on hormonal contraception for various reasons, and the non-hormonal coil is not a good option for me either.

I am starting to track it through the natural cycles app and will be taking my temperature every day to make it as accurate as possible, and using condoms on ‘red’ days, and withdrawal on other days. Has anyone had success with this?

I’m in a sexual relationship and naturally both me and him are a little apprehensive about it but I don’t see any other option with the coil not being an option for me.

That would be too risky for me. How would you both feel if you got PG @Brightstar29?

I had success with this for many years, until we decided to ttc. You will get loads of people telling you it's irresponsible and unreliable blah blah blah but if you have regular cycles and clear signs that you're ovulating (which I did - chronic bloating and twinges, egg white cervical mucus in the days leading up to) then you can choose to abstain or use protection during that time. Worked for me for several years.

Worked for me both preventing and getting pregnant. But I knew getting pregnant wouldn't have been a disaster for me. Still, it worked well for 1.5 years - I didn't get pregnant until I started trying to.

I wasn't criticising the OP. Different people have different levels of fertility and I know that this wouldn't work for me. I've tried it with another method added in fir good luck and still ended up PG! Grin

My friend has a beautiful 2 year old girl courtesy of natural cycles.

My dn used this app last year, Baby due in spring.

It's worked as contraception for me for 8 years and got me pregnant the first month of ttc when I wanted to. Back to using it postpartum again and love it. No fake hormones for me!

I use the symptothermal method but chart on paper so I’m tied to the actual data rather than what the app predicts/suggests.
