Looking for reviews on Cerazette, tried most things and have been given this to try.

Told it's better as migraine sufferer?

Any reviews welcome.

I love it. Been using it for 13 years. Less frequent migraines. No periods for 13 years either. Or PMS symptoms.

I was on cerazette for about 4 years and felt fine on it.

I suffer from aura only migraines and maybe get them every few months, didn't notice any change on cerazette. Although I think mine are triggered by light and not hormones.

Had no periods other than minor breakthrough bleeds once in a blue moon which didn't even soak into a pad it was so light.

Weight gain happened (but could definitely just be laziness and diet lol)

Clear skin for the first time since I hit puberty

Cerazette did not agree with me at all. My periods stopped but I became incredibly anxious and depressed and my hair thinned and never grew back. I became very stressed and was signed off work. I felt like I was walking through an angry fog. It took a few months for me to join the dots.

Thanks so much for your responses.

@AnaglyptaBandersnatch do you mind if I ask if you were anxious before taking it? I'm an anxious person myself so wondering if perhaps it will heighten it?

I took it for several years pre children and it was great - periods pretty much stopped. Unfortunately I then began to spot constantly and stopped (partly for that reason and also as we started trying for a baby).

Just tried to go back on it post baby and had to stop after 10 days - almost immediately had severe anxiety (constantly on the edge of a panic attack). Have been off for 3 days now and it's eased right off so obviously didn't agree for some reason!

I had major increase in anxiety making life unbearable and now a pp mentions it, it could be a contributor to my thining hair

I tried it after my daughter was born and it didn't agree with me at all. My mental health deteriorated quite significantly and I became extremely anxious. I thought it was PND and was about to go on antidepressants. As I wasn't breastfeeding any more I decided to stop it and go back on my previous pill (which I hadn't taken at first as it wasn't safe while feeding). Within a couple of days of stopping it, it was like a giant black cloud had lifted from me and I felt so so much better. There is no way I would ever take it again.
However, my mum was on it for years and it really suited her so you never know unless you try it.

I took it after my first child, no problems. But after my second, I spiralled into a very dark place. I thought it was PND, but I decided to stop the cerazette as I knew one of the side effects was depression and within days, the black clouds lifted and I was back to myself again.

I never went back on any pill again as I was too worried about the effects.

It really didn't agree with me (major low moods, acne etc) and I came off it.
However I've had to go back on it due to extremely heavy periods. I'm on an own brand version (desogestrel) and had the same extreme low moods, anxiety etc for about 6-9 months and slowly it is going off, although I know I'm still grumpier/snappier than I was before.

Thanks for all of the advice. If there’s a chance that it can cause low mood I don’t think I’m going to risk it.

Appreciate everyone taking the time to reply.
