Horrendous period after coil removal

Had the mirena out 2.5 weeks ago as thinking about DC number 2. DC1 is 2 and I haven’t had a period in 2 years and 10 months. Periods were never exactly a walk in the park previously, I used to get IBS symptoms while menstruating, although they were manageable and I didn’t bleed that heavily or for that long. IBS has been pretty much none existent over the last ~ 3 years, which has been amazing. I’ve loved the mirena coil!

Period came this morning am I am in bits tonight. Multiple episodes of diarrhoea, horrendous abdominal pain and extreme nausea. Currently lying in the bath unable to move. If it’s like this tomorrow I won’t be able to go to work. Did anyone have this after having the coil removed?

When I had my mirena out, I had the worse period ever for 10 days. Just didn't stop! So heavy. Could barely leave the house and was so drained as barely sleeping as up constantly having to get changed
Really feel for you!
It did stop though and back to normal periods now.

You are not alone. I had mine out a couple of months ago to try and conceive but when my period comes each month it gets so painful now that I have days where I'm often wishing I'd hadn't had it out.

I've been dosing myself up on codeine all day hoping to get on top of it and the pain it's causing down into my legs is awful!
