Embedded mirena coil

After 3 years I decided to get my mirena removed after I couldn't find my strings and had been getting a lot of pain and abnormal bleeding. I had mines removed by doctor under local anesthetic. They struggled to get it out and discovered one half was embedded in my womb! It came out in 2 parts after a lot of pulling and tugging. I knew something wasn't right and thinking it has been embedded for so long is making me worried this will effect me becoming pregnant 😔 im going to request a scan to see if its completely gone and if there's any damage but if anyone reading this has had a similar experience has had any difficulties getting pregnant can you please let me know..I am so worried.

Omg me too! I had so much pain and aches in the first 6-8 months but they said it was normal. It settled down a bit but I still have lots of period pain type aches throughout the month (not just when on period).

Sorry to hear your having pain 😔 i was unaware your meant to get it checked 6-8 weeks after insertion but I never did! Definitely worth getting it checked out as its not normal to cause this pain so long after. I was the same as you always continuous pain/aches..I always had a period with mines too. I've ended up with a mixed anerobic infection after getting it out aswell! I've been referred fir a scan to make sure no further damage has been done xx
