Changing dates of breakthrough bleed

Kai1981 · 27/06/2022 04:58

I'm on Microgynon and have a regular breakthrough bleed about 3 days into my pill free week.

But it falls on a weekend and I'd prefer it to fall a few days later.

Could I take Microgynon for say 25 days instead of 21 next time and try to change the days of the breakthrough bleed that way or something?

I know I can take Microgynon continously and I will do that as well, but I'll still occasionally get breakthroughs every few months and would prefer them to come on a Monday not a Friday! 😁

Maybe make the break shorter between packs

Kai1981 · 27/06/2022 15:17

Thank you. I wondered about that but when I finish a pack on a Mon currently, my period doesn't start until Friday anyway.

So if I instead stopped on the Monday and started it again on a Friday, my period would probably come anyway.

But maybe shorter breaks over time would change the day it starts. I thought taking the pill for 25 days therefore might be better as it's more likely to stop the period coming on a Friday.

Just wondered if anyone had actually done something similar.
