Mirena/IUD insertion straight after birth?

Hi,

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and this will definitely be my last pregnancy. My obstetrician has agreed to sterilise me post c - section if I end up having one however I am more keen for a natural delivery meaning that I will need to wait a few months for sterilisation.

Looking for advice on having a mirena inserted post partum, has anyone had it done in the hospital straight after the birth and can shed light on how it was? I'll obviously chat to midwife at next appointment as well.

I wanted the coil after my last baby but I was told they like to wait 3 months to let your womb go back to normal shape to help reduce the chance of it being expelled.

Now baby is 10 months old and I haven't got around to making an appointment.
