Plan B, no period!

Myself and DH experienced a contraception failure while I was ovulating. I arranged to take the Plan B but couldn't access this until two days later. My period is normally like clockwork, however i'm currently 5 days late and pregnancy tests are showing negative. Could this be the plan B creating a period delay? Or if pregnant am I testing too early?

Thanks in advance x

Hey, do you mind me asking how things worked out as I am currently in a similar situation? I do know that the morning after pill can delay your period

How are you both getting on?
I took the morning after pill in Feb after a condom failure and got pregnant.
I had another failure last Friday and took morning after pill again. Almost the exact same day in my cycle where I know from last time I’d already ovulated which is why it didn’t prevent the pregnancy.
playing the waiting game now to see if it’s worked this time xx

so still no period although I am only 2 days late as I miss-calculated.

I did a test last night and it was negative. I don’t know if you’ve experienced the same but I’ve felt awful just lately I’ve been really achy, nauseous and irritable. Other than that I’ve noticed more discharge than normal so not a clue what’s going on with me right now.

hope you’re ok

Last time it was tiredness and sore boobs that alerted me to something not being right.
I think it all in my head this time. Another 9 days to wait before I can test.
I hope your period rocks up soon. 🤞 it’s a worrying time xx

The morning after pill delays ovulation so yes it can make your period late.

Hi sorry to jump on I have a weird question and don’t know how to put it up on it’s own, me and my partner had sex 2 days in a row unprotected and I took the morning after pill after the second time it was a day before my expected ovulation. We have had sex again today unprotected as I am due to ovulate today but took plan B yesterday does anyone know if it is still possible for me to fall pregnant? XX

Yes it's possible. Of course it is. Emergency contraception is not guaranteed to work. Get a coil fitted if you want a guarantee.

You had unprotected sex (several times) at literally the worst time for someone who doesn't want to get pregnant

Why did you say you had sex today unprotected as you were due to ovulate? That makes no sense if you don't want to get pregnant

How did you all get on? Have periods shown up? Thinking of you all x
