Morning After Pill (Levonelle) Bleeding

Hi,

On the 11th March we had a condom malfunction. This was day 9 of my cycle. I took the MAP 13/14 hours later.
My cycles are normally 27/28 days.
6 days after taking the MAP I started lightly spotting, which the following day has turned into a heavier bleed. Mostly when I go to the toilet but also it is heavy enough that I'm having to wear a pad, along with period like pain.

My actual period is due on the 9 days time (11 days from when this bleed started).

Has anyone else had experience of bleeding quite a bit a week after taking the pill?

I'm assuming this is normal?

It is normal to experience some bleeding and stomach pains. Could also be you period starting early, the MAP can do this as well as make your period late. Take a look at the instruction leaflet, which you can find online. I would contact GP if the bleeding continues after a few days or gets heavier.

I am having exactly this at the moment and am quite worried about the bleeding and stomach pains. Did this end up being side effects of Levonelle for you? Not sure whether to call the doctors for reassurance. Please let me know!

Yes it did. It also made my next period late by a week and now have had my 3rd period a week early. It’s also changed the flow type x
