Marina vs copper coil?

I had the Marina coil fitted 5 weeks ago when I was 7 weeks postpartum. I did nothing but bleed heavily for the full 5 weeks that it was in. The doctor tried to persuade me to keep it in and take some tablets to try to stop the bleeding but I was so fed up I made her take it out. I also felt nauseous and more anxious and short tempered while it was in.
I've now booked for the copper coil to be inserted next month. Have I made a mistake do you think and should've given it more time?
What are peoples experiences of the mirena vs the copper? Thank you.

I’ve never had the Mirena but I have had 3 copper coils. 1st one was in around 10 years - never had a single problem. Came out as it was at the end of its life span and I then wanted to start a family.
Second one was only in a few months and I accidentally pulled it out!
Third one swiftly replaced the second. Been there ever since. Not a single issue.
I really dislike hormonal contraception so the copper coil is a godsend to me!

I had the exact opposite experience to @DropYourSword –bled endlessly and painfully with copper, and on Mirena I had zero side effects and no bleeding!

It's so tricky, isn't it, when our bodies all respond so very differently?

But if you've bled so heavily and for so long on Mirena I don't think it was the wrong move to take it out. You know your body best and it sounds like this just didn't feel right at all.
