Bleeding for ages on the mini pill

Today is day 14 of bleeding this month on the mini pill. I’ve been back on if for 2 months after 7 years off (having kids) and it’s awful! I’m 38 now and my DH and I are very likely done family wise so he will likely book in for the snip when we’re 100% sure but this is a nightmare in the meantime! Anyone else had the same?

Yes I've been taking Cerelle for 2 months now and have basically bled the entire time. I keep thinking I need to stick it out for a few months at least to see if it settles?

Ahh it might be a settling in thing then, I might give it a couple more months, thanks. Hope it settles down for you too.

Hi there,

I was on Cerelle for about two years being told that it was the magic pill to stop my bleeding completely, and I have heard from friends that it did indeed stop their bleeding. I was one of the unlucky ones with periods of bright red blood that would last 3 weeks or more and come on very irregularly. I was also very depressed and gained a fair bit of weight because of it. I quit smoking and lost weight through healthy eating and was offered the combined pill which I have only started yesterday after a break from hormonal contraception.

I have been told it can take between 3-6 months for your body to settle but it never did for me. :( I sympathise with you entirely.

Cerelle caused me.really bad cramps and bleeding. I'm on cerezette now with no issues

I had 2 weeks of bleeding on the mini pill(whilst on holiday so that was fun)
Then it settled
Now I get a period once every few months which is better than the heavy periods I get.
Give it time to settled

I am also newly on Cerelle and having the same experience. This is my first pack and bleeding started day 7, continued for 10 days. Will see if that’s it settled…
